DeAnne and I had the pleasure of taking pictures of ‘mom-to-be’ Stevie this weekend. She was so cute and was willing to do anything- a photographer's dream! We met her at her husband's office, a golf course! It was absolutely gorgeous! We got rained out on the first day, but were able to meet her early the next morning to finish up. Can't wait to see what she thinks about what we captured.

4th of July Cedar Key Style
What a fantastic weekend it was! Cedar Key was a great place to be to celebrate Independence Day. I had the opportunity to really explore some of the great features of my new camera- Nikon 7000. I am in love with its expanded ISO range. Being able to shoot at ISO 6400 helped me capture the fireworks shot below. I’m anxious to use it more this upcoming week while we take a small family road trip!

Newest Edition...
My daughter, Zoe, decided to use money from her savings account to purchase my Nikon 3100. While it was a great camera, I decided that the Nikon 7000 would expand my photo options. So, we are officially a Nikon family! Zoe and I will be working on weekly photography assignments starting in August. Can't wait to see what we get!
Here is a shot from my new camera.
I'm anxious to use it during the upcoming July 4th festivities around town. Happy 4th of July!

What is Just Me Photography?
Just Me Photography is all about photography by me (and you) and for me (and you). DeAnne and I have been taking pictures for over 10 years. Like many other ladies, we gathered at the Cedar Key Arts Center on Saturdays to learn from a local master, Chris Harkness. We were thrilled to learn how to take photos, develop film, and enlarge prints. We were like kids in a candy shop!
DeAnne and I started taking pictures of people, events, and even pets to help support our habit of photographing our own families. We always had a lot of fun and have fond memories of those shoots. I also remember MANY late nights in the darkroom with DeAnne working on prints. We were there so late some nights that the partiers (who were kicked out from the L&M) would stop to watch when were were outside washing prints at 2 AM. They thought they had too much alchohol when they saw us with a HUGE PVC pipes outside with water hoses. LOL!!! What we were really doing was washing life-sized black and white prints of our daughters. Our homes are filled with images of our families that we took and we created. Both in education (me in Art & DeAnne in Elementary Ed), we collaborated with photography in the classroom too. We even got the opportunity to teach workshops for other educators in places like the Harn Museum in Art in Gainesville.
A lot has changed in the past 10 years. We don't meet up in the darkroom or participate in "Purina Pet Days" anymore, but we continue to take photography courses, collaborate on cool finds, and share a love of photography equipment- now digital. We are just about ready to take our show on the road again. This time in a different way. We want to teach YOU how to take better photographs. We want to support YOU in learning how to use those fancy cameras. We also want to teach YOU to use editing software for even more creative images. So be on the lookout for new workshop details starting in a few weeks.
Let the fun begin!
